Ice T and Treach are Gearing up to Release Movie on Police Brutality, “Equal Standards”
Ice-T and Naught by Nature’s Treach is gearing up to release a movie about police brutality called Equal Standard.
“It’s not just a black issue anymore,” Treach told Page Six. “It’s a humanity issue. You can’t treat these people like this. It’s 2020, and enough is enough.” He continues, “We have been screaming out for help since the civil rights era . . . Anything they can do from within the police force is going to help when they go out in the streets. It’s the relationship … When all the conversation you have with police is: ‘Where are you from?’ ‘Move from this corner’ … Instead of ‘How is your day going’ and ‘What’s up?’ ”
The Law and Order: SVU actor told the outlet, “Right now at the protests you are actually seeing them [the police] in action, pushing down old men and beating little white girls down. You are seeing what we see on a daily basis.”
Ice-T and Treach are hoping to get the film on a streaming platform like Amazon or Hulu.

The action came before returning to campus for voluntary workouts on June 8, according to reports.
The “Buckeye Pledge” was obtained and reported by the Columbus Dispatch. It asks players to “help stop the spread of the COVID-19.” It also asks them to accept that “I may be exposed to COVID-19 and other infections.”
By signing the two-page electronic pledge, players agree to testing and potential self-quarantining; monitoring for symptoms, and reporting any potential exposure in a timely manner.
They also have to practice Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. These include practices such as wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
The waiver states “any failure to comply with my Buckeye Pledge above may lead to the immediate removal of athletic participation privileges (not my athletics scholarship) and/or the inability to use athletics facilities.”

After announcing the special on Twitter, Buress also linked to a Miami New Times article noting how the police officer who arrested him had previously choked another man at a bar without provocation.

Don Lemon Responds To Being Name-Dropped By Dave Chappelle In New Stand-Up
Late Thursday night, Dave Chappelle released a nearly half an hour-long impromptu stand-up on YouTube, 8:46, where he talked about the killing of George Floyd, and other black people at the hands of law enforcement, and the protests and riots that have ensued since.
In his standup, Chappelle name-dropped a handful of people including Don Lemon and Candace Owens. Chappelle specifically talked about Don Lemon’s remarks on CNN one night where he challenged celebrities to stand on the front lines with protestors and use their voices.
“I’m watching Don Lemon… he says, ‘Where are all these celebrities. Why aren’t you talking?” Chappelle said in his stand-up. “Does it matter about celebrity? No. This is the streets talking for themselves. They don’t need me right now.”
Lemon was asked what he thought about being called out by Chappelle. “I’m actually honored to be memorialized in a Dave Chappelle special,” What I will say is that I actually agree with Dave Chapelle. I agree—I think the establishment has been a bit behind… I think the young people who are out there in the street don’t really care what we have to say. They think that part of the world that we created and what we did, maybe we didn’t move fast enough, we weren’t strong enough. So they’re out there fighting.”
“But I do think that this is not a moment for modesty. I think this is a moment that we should all be using our platforms to do whatever we can, and at least to show those young people and people out there that we support them,” Lemon added. “And it doesn’t mean taking all of the credit for it or speaking out for them. I think that they can do that on their own—I think that’s exactly right, that they need to know that people like Dave Chappelle, like me or whoever supports them. And that’s all they need to know.”
