As an artist there’s always pressure to make music that people will like. To make it more challenging it’s even tougher to do a remake. Going against what people already know and expect from the original, to make your own special version for people to dive into. John Lock handles this pressure with ease and makes an impressive remake of the classic Lloyd song “Get It Shawty”.
The record excels at giving you the same quality as the original but with its own creative twist to breathe fresh life into it. The production captures an infectious house approach, that sounds like it was crafted with the intent to fill dance floors everywhere, and it will surely do that and much more. For this fun sound you get the Lloyd vocals, that glides through every melody so effortlessly to make something that is truly easy listening.
Everything that makes a remake great to listen to is what this record excels at. It’s able to shine in its own creative take, while also still keeping the things you love about the original to make for a true experience of music that you can enjoy without limits. If you’re looking for the right record to start your weekend on the right track, this one will get the job done for you.
