To say covering classic music is challenging, would be an understatement. Not only are you trying to bring new life to music you’re familiar with, but you also have to go against what people already love about the music, and get them to enjoy your spin on it. With the difficulty of doing it being so high, it takes a special artist to pull it off right, and Estella Dawn is that special artist with her new cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”.
Estella Dawn is able to take a classic Chris Isaak record and give it fresh pop life. The singing is masterful in its approach, as well as the emotion that grabs you immediately with the music. The production brings a nice emotive pop sound to this record, that makes the music that more intimate that much better to get into, to bring a fresh perspective to the music, that lets you fall in love with the classic and remake alike.
