One of the biggest issues in Hip Hop present day is does the genre still have substance. Can you still find music that is rooted in soul, and has a real message that can connect to people beyond just a good song, but a real experience that pours into the listener. Those songs are harder to find by the day but an artist like TeeCee has all of that and so much more, with his new song “Came Far” being a great example of that.
He’s a able to put together a smooth sound you can vibe to with incredible lyrical substance, to bring us into his world. The music sets the ultimate tone and slows things down, to let TeeCee go to work with a commanding presence in his slick flow, that lets you feel the conviction necessary to make sure his rhymes are felt as they come to life for every second, as well as buy into his star power that shines bright on this must hear release. The soul he pouts into the music is its greatest assets and makes the story telling of his journey connect, at an even higher level to make a song that’s impossible to ignore.
