Greetings Global Family. This week’s installment of Global Fashion will focus on the brand Mood NYC . I wanted to begin this post with a very important definition. Upcycle(verb)- reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original…this definition is important because Mood NYC gives new life to vintage tees and combines them with Mood originals to make something fresh and fly.
Life is short right? So why shouldn’t we get the most out of the favorite items twice? The trend I’m referring to is called upcycling The brand Mood NYC takes upcycling to the next level. This is a minimalist line that stands out amongst the others. As the name might imply Mood NYC definitely draws inspiration from New York culture. Another cool feature of Mood NYC is the fact that incorporate skater style into their design aesthetic.
So what fashion lessons have we learned today? One major take-home lesson from Mood NYC is don’t take things for granted. There can be so much value in upcycling.
